You know you have great comics in you but something’s holding you back
- Are you having trouble getting your head around your comics project?
- Do you have a great story but you need help telling it as a comic?
- Are you unsure about how to go about finishing your comic and getting it out into the world?
Together, we’ll take control of the many gears and pulleys of your project and set you on the path to finishing amazing comics and sharing them with the world!
How it works
We will plan out our time together in a way that best suits your particular project.
A typical way to work together would be to schedule an online meeting every 2 weeks over the course of 2 months, for a total of 4 meetings.
Why this time frame? Two months gives you time to make some concrete progress and for the two of us to develop a sustained dialogue about whatever issues are holding you up at the drawing table (real or virtual).
Meetings last one hour and you can schedule them in advance using my scheduling calendar. You will have my full attention for the hour, and you can bring pages to show or discuss more global issues you want to get into.
If you have a long or book-length draft that you want me to read through, we can figure out a way to fit that into our time together as well.
The total cost for the program is
$1500 $1200 (pilot program rate).

Here’s what some former students and clients of mine have said about working with me:
“With Matt’s bi-weekly meet-ups, I was able to publish my first story. I knew Matt was going to ask me how the work was progressing, and as a result, I finished weeks before my publishing deadline.“
—Britton Sukys, cartoonist & illustrator
“Matt is honest, kind, and a fantastic guide to help you bring your stories to life!”
—Sammy Franklin, cartoonist
“One of the things that most impressed me working with Matt is that he’s an incredibly good and intuitive close reader. He digs directly into what people are saying and also talks to them about what they’re trying to say.”
—Beth Trembley, author of Look Again
