I regularly swap out one-page comics to feature on my home page. This comic is actually a mock-up I did for a silkscreen comics anthology out of Argentina called Cábula (issue Nº7), where it was printed in cyan and flourescent lime green…

Cábula Nº7 along with some other South American publications of mine from 2011
The art in this comic is based on drawings I did in class at SVA where I had students dress up models and choose “narrative” poses for them. The assignment was to make a four-panel comic based on these life drawings.
The text I used is a Spanish phonetic pangram, that is, it’s a sentence which uses all the possible sounds you can make in Spanish at least once. It translates as “The giant stork drank eight glasses of whiskey, plus fifteen full mugs of cold pale ale, and escaped in a taxi right away.” So you can see that it matches the images pretty well! Note that “más” in addition to meaning “plus” also means “more” as in “gimme more whiskey!”

One-page comic for the Argentinian silkscreen comics anthology Cabula Nº7.
